We are proactive in identifying obsolete equipment containing the ozone-depleting refrigerant R22, and making recommendations for its replacement with low-energy, ozone-friendly systems. All our new equipment contains only refrigerants with a zero ozone-depleting potential such as R410A.

Fully Qualified
With the government's focus firmly on environmental issues, owners and operators of any refrigeration equipment, including air conditioning, are faced with ever-increasing legislation.

Equipment containing the commonly used ozone-depleting R22 refrigerant (very likely in any systems installed prior to 2000) will become increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain after its production is outlawed at the end of 2009.

F-Gas Regulations, introduced in July 2007 following the Kyoto Protocol, require the owners and operators of air conditioning systems to take steps to eliminate the emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (HFCs). These include all the commonly used refrigerant gases such as R134a, R407C, R410A and R404A.

All air conditioning systems containing more than 3kg of refrigerant must have a minimum of one maintenance inspection and leak test every year and ensure accurate records are kept of all such inspections. This is also good practice for smaller systems to keep them in tip-top condition.

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive requires air conditioning systems over 12kW capacity to have regular inspections to check their efficiency and appropriate sizing.
